Job description

The District is the region's public transportation provider with a strong public service ethic. We are looking for an energetic, conscientious and detail-oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, a quick learner who can take the initiative, is safety-driven, and enjoys being part of a small team that takes pride in their service to the community and support for its front-line employees.



JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Monitors and directs transit operators and ensures that operating policies and procedures are followed.

* Responds to problems in the field such as road-calls, detours, and collisions.

* Assists in scheduling and assigning operators.

* Responds to inquiries from customers and investigates customer complaints.

* Coordinates with Maintenance staff for repairs and replacement of vehicles.

* Coordinates with First Responders as necessary for field incidents.

* Maintain records on operators and revenue vehicles and periodically prepares reports, gathers data, and prepares recommendations; completes required paperwork in timely manner.

* Assists with organizing and conducting operator training and re-training.

* Qualified to operate all types of revenue vehicles.

* Occasionally acts as substitute Dispatcher.

* Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the District.

* Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum possession of HS Diploma/GED.

* Must be able to effectively read, write and comprehend Basic English; ability to speak and understand Spanish is preferred.

* At least 21 years old, valid CDL (Class A or B) with P Endorsement and in addition either: S, V, F or A (CDIP accepted).

* No more than one (1) moving violation in the last three years.

* Prior experience or training in supervising and/or scheduling vehicle service and operators and customer service.

* Ability to work all shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and split shifts) and up to twelve (12) hours/day.

* Must not have outside employment that interferes with employment at SEAT.

* Ability to pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment testing meeting the physical requirements of the position.

* Safety Sensitive position and is subject to FTA Drug and Alcohol regulations.

* Must have basic computer skills in data entry and functional competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
