Toronto Metropolitan University seeks a Transformation Consultant to guide organizational change across the University. You will develop clear roadmaps, apply agile methods, and help teams move from vision to implementation with measurable impact.
Working in the Organizational Effectiveness portfolio, you’ll partner with leaders and HR to align design, projects and change management, building capability that endures beyond individual initiatives and strengthens employee and student experiences.
For more than 75 years, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University) has been shaping the next generation of leaders through its uniquely innovative, entrepreneurial and career-focused approach to higher education. Driven by bold leadership, cutting-edge research and a deep commitment to academic excellence, TMU collaborates with students, faculties, staff and partners to push boundaries, reimagine solutions and create meaningful change in an increasingly interconnected world.

TMU welcomes those who have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion and will assist us in realizing the benefits of embedding these values into the work at every level and in every unit of the university. In addition, to correct the conditions of disadvantage in employment in Canada and to bring lived experiences to the work, we encourage applications from members of equity deserving groups that have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples in Canada, First Nations Peoples in the United States, racialized people, Black people, persons with disabilities, women, and 2SLGBTQ+ people. Preference will be given to candidates with lived experiences as people from equity deserving groups, as well as experience working with these communities with which the University works every day. Please note that all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and we welcome newcomers and immigrants to Canada.
In April 2022, the university announced its new name of Toronto Metropolitan University. Learn more about our next chapter.

The Organizational Effectiveness team builds TMU’s organizational design capability and enables complex, enterprise-level transformation through a structured, collaborative and people-centred approach. Working in close partnership with leaders and cross-functional HR teams, we bring together organizational design, project and change management expertise to help align people, roles, operating models and service delivery with the University’s evolving priorities. Our work is grounded in consistent methodology, strong governance and practical solutions, and includes some of TMU’s largest and most complex transformation initiatives.
As a Transformation Consultant, you’ll help Toronto Metropolitan University navigate the complex journey of organizational change by turning strategic priorities and ambitious ideas into meaningful improvements that can be understood, adopted, and sustained across the University.
Working as part of the Organizational Effectiveness portfolio, you’ll contribute to the direction and delivery of transformation initiatives that help TMU adapt to an evolving environment while strengthening the employee and student experience. You’ll bring together project management, change management, and organizational effectiveness practices to help teams move confidently from vision to implementation and, ultimately, to measurable impact.
You’ll develop clear, cohesive roadmaps that help teams understand where they’re going, how they’ll get there, and what success looks like along the way. Using innovative and agile project management approaches, you’ll guide initiatives through design, development, and delivery while anticipating the organizational and human dimensions of change.
Your role will be particularly important in helping people navigate transformation. You’ll work across teams and organizational boundaries to build understanding, support adoption, identify barriers, and help ensure that new processes, practices, and ways of working become embedded rather than simply implemented.
You’ll bring an inclusive and thoughtful lens to your work, ensuring transformation initiatives reflect TMU’s commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and an exceptional employee and client experience. You’ll also help teams strengthen their ability to manage change effectively, building organizational capability that extends beyond individual projects.
If you’re energized by complexity, enjoy bringing people and ideas together, and are passionate about helping organizations successfully navigate change, this is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping TMU's transformation journey.
