Job summary

The City of Vancouver is seeking a Traffic Supervisor to lead field crews in the Traffic and Electrical Operations Branch. You will plan assignments, supervise day-to-day activities, ensure safety, and coordinate with city departments and contractors to optimize efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and a solid understanding of electrical systems and traffic-signal infrastructure. This full-time position starts October 2026 and offers a competitive wage with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 is required.
  • Inter-provincial certificate in Electrical Trades or Technologist Diploma in Electronics and extensive electrical experience are required.
  • Supplemental courses related to the responsibilities are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and monitor field crews' work.
  • Prioritize and coordinate work with city departments and contractors to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Monitor work orders in Hansen asset & work management system.
  • Perform hands-on repairs and provide training to new hires and apprentices.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within budget and schedule.
