Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Ensuring all safety procedures and protocols are followed.
  2. Setting up closures with signage, barricades, cones, and lane markings.
  3. Safely maintaining and monitoring all closures.
  4. Removing and relocating traffic equipment as needed.
  5. Performing flagging activities to direct vehicles, heavy equipment, and foot traffic safely.
  6. Completing daily traffic inspections and reports.
  7. Safely driving the buffer truck.
Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience in traffic control in high-traffic environments.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and multitask within time constraints.
  4. Physically capable of standing for long durations, moving traffic equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  5. Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  6. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract.
Work Conditions:
  1. This is a field-based position from May to November 2025.
  2. Flexibility to work on projects throughout Alberta is required.
  3. Shift rotations involve 10–14-hour workdays, including nights and overtime.
  4. A living-out allowance of $140 per day is provided.
  5. Preference is given to candidates with an RV or trailer, as a camp area with hookups is provided.
