Job summary

Frontline Traffic Services in Halifax/Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) to manage traffic at construction sites in and around Halifax. No experience is required, and we provide all safety training along with transportation to and from work.

We offer competitive wages starting at $17.50/hour, TCP certification training, and opportunities for advancement within a few months. Transportation to work is provided in most cases, with a friendly management team to help

Responsibilities

• Assist with placing signs, barricades, and traffic cones in work areas.
• Communicate with other TCPs to regulate traffic safely.
• Ensure safe passage of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists through work areas.
• Adapt traffic control setups to support moving paving operations.
• Communicate incidents or hazards to the Site Supervisor.
• Follow instructions from Site Foreman, Site Supervisor, and Management.

We’re looking for reliable and hardworking people to join our team as Traffic Control Person(s) (TCPs). In this exciting role, you would be responsible for managing traffic through construction sites in and around Halifax/Dartmouth and surrounding HRM areas. If you enjoy being outside, working on your feet & have an interest in getting a foot in the door with construction, this is a fantastic opportunity for you! No experience required, and we provide all necessary safety training. We even provide transportation to and from work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with placing signs, barricades, and traffic cones in work areas.
  
• Communicate with other TCPs in the workplace to regulate traffic safely.
• Responsible for the safe passage of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists through work areas.
• Adapt traffic control setups to support moving paving operations.
• Communicate any incidents or hazards to the Site Supervisor.
• Ensure a safe work environment in accordance with all policies and procedures.
• Follow instructions given by Site Foreman, Site Supervisor, and Management.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Reliable and punctual.
• Must be able to interpret both written and verbal instructions.
  
• Great communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions, often working long days.
• Comfortable working near vehicle traffic and heavy equipment on construction sites.
• Required ability to lift up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods of time.
• Valid TCP Certification an asset.
• Valid Class 5 License an asset.
