  • Liaise with customers to confirm cargo lineups, shipping instructions, and cargo totals.
  • Prepare vessel documentation, discharge reports, cargo tallies, and operational paperwork.
  • Process customs, steamship, truck, and rail releases and communicate requirements to stakeholders.
  • Support terminal operations by responding to inquiries from forepersons, longshore workers, and customers.
  • Create job orders, assign storage locations, and coordinate cargo receiving and loadout activities.
  • Assist with inventory control, cargo inspections, audits, and customer notifications regarding discrepancies.
  • Provide general administrative support, departmental coverage, and assistance to team members as required.

SSA Marine is seeking a Traffic Clerkto join our SSA Marine Squamishteam. This full-time,permanentposition is based at our office inSquamishand reports to theOperations Manager.

The Position

The Traffic Clerk tracks the customers' products on the terminal site from the time it is advised by the customer to the time it has been removed from the site. This includes all cargo SQT handles, including but not limited to pulp, steel or project cargo. This position receives and inputs/tracks the vessel lineups and mill advice from the customer. The Traffic Clerk also inputs and tracks all shipments from/to the customer either via rail or truck. This position is responsible for accurate and professional communication with team members and customers.

You will be part of a motivated and diverse team and will have a high degree of interaction with all employees throughout the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

The Traffic Clerk role is primarily office-based, requiring strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation and communications. Occasional work on the dock or aboard vessels is required, with exposure to outdoor industrial conditions such as varying weather, noise, and operational environments.
