Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited in Toronto is seeking a Power System Engineer to support the RSSOM project. You will contribute to traction power and electrical systems, participate in design reviews, testing, and on-site commissioning activities.

The role requires knowledge of AC/DC traction, MV/LV distribution and system architecture, with a focus on interface coordination, quality and schedule adherence in a railway environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or IT or equivalent.
• Experience in traction power or electrical systems preferred.
• Knowledge of railway environment, rules and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve interfaces with main subsystems (signalling, CW, trackwork).
• Ensure delivery of systems per engineering guidelines, quality standards, timing and cost constraints.
• Coordinate verification activities per the V&V plan and test on-site.
• Plan tests and coordinate operational activities on site according to schedule.
• Prepare test reports and address non-conformances per quality procedures.
• Share knowledge related to Contact line and test practices with the team.
• Interface with other relevant technologies to ensure cohesive system operation.
