Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited is seeking an OpenShift Support Engineer to manage large OpenShift deployments and on‑prem/Cloud-native platforms. The role emphasizes automation, incident response, and collaboration with multiple engineering teams to maintain production readiness.

OpenShift Support Engineer [DevOps Engineer] Has deep OpenShift administration experience. Has practical experience building and operating EKS environments in AWS. Enjoys solving complex infrastructure and platform challenges. Has a strong automation-first mindset. Can work independently while collaborating across multiple engineering teams. Is comfortable leading troubleshooting efforts and supporting critical production environments. Key Responsibilities OpenShift Platform Engineering Administer and support large-scale Red Hat OpenShift environments. Perform cluster upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and platform maintenance. Troubleshoot cluster, node, networking, storage, and application deployment issues. Manage OpenShift Operators, MachineConfig, RBAC, SCCs, monitoring, and logging solutions. Support onboarding of application teams onto the platform. Participate in production incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements. AWS EKS Platform Enablement Design, deploy, and manage Amazon EKS clusters in AWS. Implement and maintain EKS networking, IAM integration, security controls, and observability solutions. Define and implement platform operating models, governance controls, and platform best practices. Support deployment patterns using Helm, Kubernetes manifests, and Infrastructure as Code. Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and Architecture teams on EKS platform evolution. Automation & DevOps Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and cloud-native automation tooling. Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines for containerized workloads. Support GitOps-based deployment approaches using Argo CD or similar technologies. Automate operational tasks, health checks, validation, compliance reporting, and platform deployments. Contribute to platform engineering standards, documentation, and reusable deployment patterns.
