Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Ontario is seeking a reliable Torch Cutter to join our team. Work Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 3:00pm, operating torch equipment to cut and trim metal pieces with safety in mind.

You will set up equipment, maintain clean work areas, and assist with material handling while outdoors in varying weather. Prior metalworking experience is preferred, but training is provided; safety awareness is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in metalworking or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Basic torch operation and safety understanding.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand and bend for long periods and lift objects as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operating torch equipment to cut and trim different metal materials.
  • Setting up and preparing torch equipment and ensuring proper safety measures are in place.
  • Performing cutting tasks with precision and accuracy.
  • Inspecting finished workpieces and making adjustments as needed.
  • Assisting with material handling and preparation tasks, such as moving and securing workpieces using clamps or fixtures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of equipment and materials.

Job Description

  • You show strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work
  • Have you good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • You havethe ability to stand andbend for long periods of timeand lift objects as required
  • You are comfortable working outdoors and being exposed to all the elements
