Job summary

Precision Drilling in Nisku, Alberta, is seeking a Millwright, Topdrive – DSC to perform maintenance and troubleshooting of Topdrive equipment. The role involves reading diagrams, aligning gears, testing systems, and performing preventive maintenance on heavy machinery.

Ideal candidates are in the 3–5 year industrial mechanical range, with Oil & Gas experience, a valid driver's license, and a strong understanding of OHS, WHMIS and PPE. On-call duties are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Current enrolled as a third- or fourth-year millwright/industrial mechanic apprentice, or actively hold Registered Red Seal Journeyman Millwright certification.
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial mechanical capacity.
• Previous experience working in Oil & Gas sector is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a driver’s abstract.
• Have the physical strength required to work with heavy equipment.
• Have a solid understanding of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and the importance of PPE on the worksite.

Responsibilities

• Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Operate rig equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
• Fit bearings, aligning gears and shafts, attaching motors.
• Align and test the equipment and make any necessary adjustments.
• Perform preventive and operational maintenance, and repair or replace defective parts when necessary.
• Participate in on-call duties as required.
• Keep up to date with all Precision Drilling's core values, key beliefs, and safety culture.
