Job summary

Precision Drilling Canada, LP is seeking a Journeyman Millwright for on-site work on Top Drive systems. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and hydraulic systems, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Millwright with apprenticeship or equivalent.
• 4+ years of industrial mechanical experience; rig experience required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and PPE practices.
• Strong communication, ability to mentor apprentices, and safely work with heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Top Drive systems, including capital repairs, overhauls, new builds, and certifications.
• Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose issues and complete repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, equipment testing, alignment, and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage spare parts inventory, investigate equipment failures, and maintain standard inspection and repair procedures.
• Provide technical support to field personnel, collaborate with operations and vendors, and travel to field locations as required while upholding safety standards.

What We Need From You

• Registered Red Seal Journeyman Millwright with a completed apprenticeship or equivalent combination of trade education and experience.
• 4+ years of industrial mechanical experience; relevant rig experience is a requirement.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with exceptional troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong commitment to safety, including knowledge of OHS regulations, WHMIS, and proper PPE practices.
• Self‑motivated team player with excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, mentor apprentices, and safely work with heavy equipment.
