Job summary

Motor Coach Industries in Winnipeg is seeking a Tooling Supervisor to lead a unionized tool fabrication team. You will coordinate tool fabrication activities, ensure timely, safe production, and manage costs within budget while guiding staff to meet department objectives.

You will supervise tool room operations, enforce health, safety and environmental policies, drive continuous improvements, and maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in tool fabrication with 3–5 years within a unionized setting.
  • Machining Red Seal would be an asset.
  • Experience using mills, drills and lathes; welding experience preferred.
  • Proficient MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Directs department activities to meet production tool standards.
  • Implements improvements for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensures work meets quality standards.
  • Monitors department budget and capital compliance.
  • Directs and assigns work to tooling associates with proper training.
  • Manages employee performance to maximize labour efficiency.
  • Ensures safe work practices and adherence to H&S/E policies.
  • Leads investigations and enforces compliance as needed.
  • Provides guidance on work requirements and expectations.
  • Ensures policy compliance and 5S standards in the department.
  • Addresses compliance or performance issues via corrective action.
  • Maintains regulatory and internal controls as required.
  • Supports continuous improvement projects and other duties as assigned.
