Job summary

Exact Match Recruitment is seeking a Tooling Manager for a global automotive stamping and welding manufacturer in Canada. You will supervise the tool room, manage day-to-day tooling operations, and drive process improvements through new product development and design changes. Responsibilities include defining project timing and costs, generating purchase requisitions, and guiding toolmakers in tooling builds. Strong leadership and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical post secondary education or Tool and Die certified.
• Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem solving and stamping die troubleshooting skills.

Job description

Our Client a Global Automotive stamping and welding manufacturer is currently seeking a Tooling Manager

Overall Responsibilities

• Supervision of Tool room in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Manage day to day tooling operations.
• Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis.
• Implement Process & Tooling projects driven through new product development, product design changes and or process improvements.
• Gives direction on process types.
• Estimates costs for design and build
• Defines project in regards to timing and performance costs
• Generates purchase requisitions for approval.
• Supports and gives direction to toolmakers in any aspect of tool building.

Qualifications

• Technical post secondary education or Tool and Die certified
• Minimum of 7-10 years stamping and or tool and die experience required
• 5 years of experience managing complex manufacturing projects
• Experience in all areas of metal stamping including progressive, manual, and transfer dies and welding
• Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
• Strong problem solving and stamping die troubleshooting skills are required
• Ability to read and interpret both product and equipment designs and drawings.
• Ability to facilitate the introduction of new processes, interface with equipment, tooling, and material suppliers
• Experience with metal stamping presses and welding equipment.
• Strong Understanding with TS 16949 or similar Quality System Standards
