Job summary

Celestica's Newmarket facility is seeking an Engineer, Systems/Applications to design, integrate and manufacture robust tooling solutions for production environments. You will lead cross-functional teams across engineering and operations to deliver high-quality tooling systems and manage them through their life cycles.

The role emphasizes tooling design, manufacturability, and reliability, providing quick-turn tooling solutions and strong collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Machinist Certification issued by Skilled Trades Ontario.
• In-depth knowledge of machine operations (CNC, mills, lathes).
• In-depth knowledge of product quality issues.
• In-depth knowledge of GD&T.
• In-depth knowledge of programs, macros, CAM software.
• Ability to recognize errors in G-code and edits prior to machining.
• Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain machines and tools.
• Ability to address problems in the production process.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to lead a team to high-quality production under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and manufacture tooling solutions with limited guidance.
• Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.
• Research systems ideas and draw up plans.
• Design, modify and implement tooling systems meeting customer and Celestica needs.
• Test, simulate and measure tooling designs and finished systems.
• Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and regulations.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors and internal teams.
• Program parts using CAD/CAM software and run parts per print.
