Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking an Industrial Tool Technician to inspect, test, clean, repair and maintain a range of hand tools, power tools and equipment used in our general rental operations, with emphasis on shutdown related gear. You will perform certifications, maintain documentation and support tool fleet activities.

Qualifications

  • Must possess the technical knowledge & mechanical aptitude to perform service & maintenance tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools & equipment, to small gasoline & diesel powered pumps, generators & general construction & maintenance equipment.
  • Competencies include proficient reading & writing skills, basic computer use, and understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.

  • Assist with loading & unloading of Industrial tools & equipment for TCRS Shutdown activities.
  • Identifying and preparing new equipment and tools for TCRS Rental Fleet. Performs other duties as directed.

Overview

The Industrial Tool Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, cleaning, repair and maintenance of all small tools & equipment associated with general rental operations, with a particular focus on shutdown related equipment.

Key Responsibility Areas
Repairs and Maintenance

Performs inspection, testing, certification, cleaning, repair & maintenance on tools & equipment, ranging from hand tools, electric, pneumatic & hydraulic power tools & equipment. Additionally there may be occasions where minor repairs or maintenance may be required on small gasoline or diesel powered equipment. All work within areas of responsibility is required to be within manufacturer, TCRS & any related legislation. In some cases additional documentation will be required to support TCRS Resources service work performed.

Tool Crib Mob & Demob

Assist with loading & unloading of Industrial tools & equipment for TCRS Shutdown activities.

New Fleet Additions

Identifying and preparing new equipment and tools for TCRS Rental Fleet. Performs other duties as directed and instructed, from time to time.

Competencies
