Job summary

Schoolhouse Playcare in Durham region seeks a Program Assistant for our Toddler program. This permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours/week) supports the ECE in delivering a play-based, inclusive learning environment and fosters strong family partnerships.

Responsibilities include helping implement programs, ensuring safety, documenting development, and complying with CCEYA and centre policies. A first aid CPR C certificate is required or in progress; childcare experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Valid up-to-date Standard First Aid with CPR C (before start).
• Experience with children and families in childcare is asset.
• Awareness of reporting suspected child abuse to authorities.

Responsibilities

• Supports Early Childhood Educator in learning and care of children.
• Helps plan and implement a play-based program responsive to children's interests and needs.
• Maintains safe environments and documents children’s development and interactions.
• Follows CCEYA and SPC policies and procedures.
• Attends orientation, trainings, meetings and family events.
