Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a General Helper to support daily operations in a busy kitchen. You will assist with customer service, food preparation, initial baking and cooking, serving meals, and dishwashing, while keeping the kitchen clean and safe.

Candidates must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent, good English communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent is required.
• Previous food service experience is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written.

How You Will Make An Impact

You will be responsible for supporting our daily operations with a wide range of tasks such as cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

As a General Help

• Assist with customer service, food preparation, initial baking and cooking of foods, dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Perform duties according to health & safety guidelines, report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately and other reasonable requests from management

About You

• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
• Previous and food services experience is an asset
• Previous experience in the healthcare environment or long-term care setting is preferred
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
