Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Cashier for our Tim Hortons cafe in Oshawa. You will be responsible for accurately recording purchases, handling cash, processing card transactions, and issuing receipts while maintaining a friendly, service-oriented demeanor.

You will follow cash handling policies, uphold Tim Hortons standards, and participate in health and safety practices. Training will be completed within the first month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Enter sales into the cash register accurately.

Job description

• Carefully enters all sales into the cash register to ensure that all purchases are accurately recorded.
• Makes change, processes credit card transactions; checks for counterfeit bills as per Company policy where equipment is provided, and issues receipts to customers.
• Follow standard Cashier policy
• Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion.
• Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner.
• Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Able to perform arithmetic operations involving all Canadian monetary units (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must be able to differentiate between monetary units.
• Must have the ability to observe customer purchases in the cafe line and to differentiate between standard portions.
• May be required to replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
• Must be able to operate equipment such as cash registers, calculators, coolers, coffee makers, coffee grinders and drink machines.
• Must interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and cash control procedures.
• Must follow all health and safety and quality assurance company policy
• Must complete 24/7 training with in one month of employment
• Must follow company Cashier Policy
• Must follow Tim Hortons Standards
