Job summary

Golden Beach Construction Ltd. in Calgary, AB is seeking a skilled tilesetter to install, lay and finish ceramic, marble or mosaic tiles at commercial and residential sites.

You will prepare surfaces, measure, cut and fit tiles, and ensure precise alignment and adhesion according to plans. The position is on site, permanent, full-time with flexible hours, offering pay around $37.50 per hour for a 35-hour workweek; prior tiling experience of 1–2 years is preferred and a high school diploma is

Qualifications

• Experience in tiling projects and familiarity with tile materials and adhesives.
• Proven ability to work with measurements, layouts and patterns.
• Basic math and reading of plans and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel.
• Prepare rough plans and sketches.
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base.
• Align and straighten tiles.
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles; supervise other workers.
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs.
• Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets.
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite.
• Estimate costs and materials.
