Job summary

LPT CONTRACTING LTD. based in Burnaby, BC, is inviting applications for a Tilesetter who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills. The position is permanent, full-time, with Day, Evening, Overtime and Morning shifts.

The selected candidate will start as soon as possible. The role involves tile installation work across residential and commercial settings, including measuring surfaces, applying adhesives, setting tiles, cutting to fit, grouting, and tile repairs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives with a hand trowel.
• Set and align tiles with pressure to affix to the base.
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles using hand/power cutting tools.
• Grout joints, remove excess grout, and replace damaged tiles as needed.

• The candidate must prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered.
• The candidate must mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.
• The candidate must set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
• The candidate must align and straighten tiles.
• The candidate must cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
• The candidate must pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
• The candidate must remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles as needed.
• The candidate must lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative walls, murals, and floor designs.
• The candidate must build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
• The candidate must cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite.
• The candidate must mix, lay, and polish terrasurfaces.
• The candidate must install tile strips.
