Job summary

York University, Performance Facilities, seeks a skilled technician to provide technical services for its five main venues and ancillary spaces. You will support internal departments and external clients, operating audio, lighting and video systems, reading diagrams, and ensuring safety and accessibility compliance.

The role requires graduation in Theatre/Dance/Music Production or equivalent experience, with at least three years in related operations and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a post-secondary institution in Theatre, Dance or Music Production, or equivalent work experience.
• Equivalent: High School diploma plus four years in music or stage production.
• Minimum three years of experience including audio/lighting/AV operations and related roles.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical services to internal departments and external clients for York University's performance facilities.
• Operates audio, lighting and video consoles and projection/display equipment.
• Reads stage and lighting diagrams and interprets them for setup and cues.
• Supports safety and accessible accommodations in line with policy.
