Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a hands-on candidate to support the assembly of Ciena Test Stations, including wiring, configuration, and maintenance of electrical and optical test setups. You will read layouts, support inventory, and coordinate with engineers on prototype builds and deployments.

The role emphasizes independent work within multidisciplinary teams, strong troubleshooting, and adherence to documentation standards in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Education in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools
• Understanding of Fiber Optic handling procedures
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and schedules

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, configure, and maintain electrical and optical test stations.
• Read and interpret layout drawings, wiring diagrams, fiber routing documentation, and assembly instructions.
• Support inventory management, equipment tracking, and material planning activities.
• Identify and address equipment shortages or operational issues.
• Conduct detailed inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and rework of electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
• Remove and reinstall electronic components as required.
• Verify repair quality through visual inspections and compliance checks against company and industry standards.
• Provide technical feedback to engineers to improve manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Create and update work instructions, setup guides, and system diagrams.
• Support scheduling, planning, and coordination activities for test station deployments and prototype builds.
• Communicate progress updates and technical findings to engineering teams.
