Job summary

Ecolab is seeking a field-based representative for the Quick Service Restaurants team, covering Vancouver Island and surrounding areas. You will install and maintain ware wash equipment, filtration systems, and sinks, while building trusted customer relationships and identifying sales opportunities.

The role requires 1–2 years in the food industry, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel to the US for training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years of food industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required.
• Willingness to travel to the US for training/meetings.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment including ware wash machines, water filtration systems, and sinks for new and existing customers.
• Maintain equipment and collateral to ensure proper function and appearance.
• Complete site surveys and recommend improvements.
• Complete Ecolab QSR visit reports as required by customer frequency.
• Facilitate sales by suggesting improvements with existing products and new innovations.
• Train customers on use of Ecolab products and services.

What You Will Do:

• Install equipment including: ware wash machines, water filtration systems, 3-compartment and mop sinks for new and existing customers (prior experience not required)
• Maintain equipment and collateral to ensure proper function and appearance
• Complete site survey and make recommendations for improvements
• Complete required Ecolab QSR visit reports based on the customer's mandated visit frequency (annually, quarterly, biannual, etc.)
• Facilitate the sale of Ecolab products by making suggestions for improvements with existing products and new innovations
• Train customers on use of Ecolab products and services
• Maintain positive relationships with customers by evaluating their needs with a focus on sales opportunities

Position Details:

• Territory: Vancouver Island, Powell River, Port Hardy and the surrounding areas
• Applicants must live in territory anywhere between Victoria to Nanaimo (or close surrounding areas)
• Overnight Travel : 12% - 25% based on business need and location
• Weekend Rotation: Rotating weekend coverage based on customer needs (once every 13 weeks)

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• 1-2 years of food industry experience preferred. New graduates welcome!
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
• Availability to provide emergency call assistance which may occur at night, on weekends and over holidays
• Ability to travel to the US for training/meetings
• No Immigration Sponsorship available for this position

Physical Demands:

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds regularly
• Driving to client locations
• Working in a variety of conditions including confined spaces, damp/dusty areas, and extreme temperatures
• Climbing ladders and performing physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and standing for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• Post Secondary Degree or Diploma
• Mechanical experience (plumbing, electrical) and experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment
• Food safety knowledge/experience or CP-FS certification
• Previous business to business sales experience

Annual Compensation:

This position has a base salary and is eligible for incentive compensation based on performance, per plan terms. Total expected compensation is in the range of $58,700-$73,900.

Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
