Job summary

The Saskatoon Housing Authority is seeking an experienced administrator to coordinate applications, allocate units, calculate rents, and manage tenant relations in line with social housing policies.

Key duties include verifying income, updating listings, renewing applications, and maintaining vacancy data. A Grade 12 education with business training and 3–5 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 with the successful completion of an accredited business program.
  • 3-5 years of relative experience.
  • A clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check will be required at time of hire.
  • Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Residential Tenancies Act would be considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Act.
  • Valid driver's license and use of a road worthy vehicle.
  • Additional third-party liability insurance ($1,000,000 minimum coverage).
  • Proficiency in the English language required (reading, speaking, and writing).

Responsibilities

  • Determination of client eligibility under the social housing platform based on set criteria.
  • Responsible for unit allocation based on applicant needs.
  • Maintain updated property listings, transfer requests, and timely data entry of tenant changes, etc.
  • Coordinate and update application renewals, process applications, and current leases.
  • Maintain vacancy reporting with accurate and timely data entry of vacate/rent termination dates and reasons for vacancy.
  • Obtain verification of income and other supporting documentation for the application process and accurate rent calculation.
  • Meet with tenants to ensure the social housing lease and Rent Supplement Programs are understood, and relay obligations for either party.
  • Familiar with the Office of the Rentalsman (ORT), eviction procedures, possession, arrears collection, disposition of abandoned property, accurate supporting documentation, and schedule move out inspections.
  • Establish and prepare arrears repayment schedules.
