Job summary

The Wellington Catholic District School Board is seeking a Staff Caretaker for a 100% temporary assignment across school sites. Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and WHMIS.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer applications as required by the position.
• Ability to operate the school’s computerized HVAC system.
• Good eye/hand coordination to safely operate equipment and small tools.
• Previous related experience.
• Practical hands-on caretaking knowledge in an institutional environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas of the school daily, including clearing ice and snow.
• Perform minor repairs and grounds work; manage garbage and secure the building.
• Report maintenance issues and respond to alarm and emergency situations during shift.
• Interact with Community Use groups as required.
• Daily travel between multiple sites may be required.
