Job summary

Rentco Equipment Ltd. in Grande Prairie is seeking a temporary, full-time Parts Technician for the Grande Prairie Head Office until the end of February 2027. Responsibilities include assisting customers in person, over the phone, or via email, processing parts purchases, and coordinating with service techs.

You will maintain parts inventory, verify shipments, and contribute to a knowledge-rich team with dealer training in brands like Bobcat, Husqvarna, Stihl, and Honda.

Qualifications

• Journeyman/Journeyperson Parts Technician (preferred) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Intermediate computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, via email, or through Kenect for parts inquiries.
• Process customer parts purchases using POR and Rentco procedures.
• Supply service technicians with parts ordered through requisition forms.
• Verify received shipments by checking orders against documents.
• Report stock levels to Service/Branch Manager and follow up on shortages.
• Maintain product knowledge through dealer training (Bobcat, Husqvarna, etc.).
• Act as Counter Sales Representative and work on front counter on Saturdays.

Our reputation was built on having long-term staff who provide excellent customer service, having a well-stocked inventory of parts, sales, and rental equipment, and by hiring those who are friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and who enjoy working as part of a team.

We are hiring a temporary, full-time Parts Technician to work at our Grande Prairie Head Office until the end of February 2027.

As the Parts Technician, you are responsible for:

• Providing excellent customers service in-person, over the phone, via e-mail, or through Kenect by assisting them with parts inquiries
• Processing customer’s parts purchases using Point of Rental (POR) and in accordance with Rentco’s procedures
• Supplying service technicians with parts ordered through parts requisition forms
• Verifying received shipments by checking order against shipping documents
• Reporting stock levels to Service Manager or Branch Manager, following up on shortages and reporting shortages to Manager
• Maintaining a high level of product and service knowledge through dealer specific training, such as, but not limited to Bobcat, Husqvarna, Stihl, Honda, etc.
• Keeping parts department stocked and orderly by maintaining min and max levels
• Acting as a Counter Sales Representative when required including working on the front counter on a Saturday rotation

You have the following education, training, and skills:

• Journeyman/Journeyperson Parts Technician (preferred), or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Intermediate computer skills with proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite and Windows
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ablity to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
• Ablity to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ablity to lift up to 50 lbs.
