Job summary

Livingstone Range School Division invites applications for a Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant at W.A. Day Elementary School in Fort Macleod, Alberta. The role supports students in an inclusive program and collaborates with a Learning Support Team to meet individual learning goals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students one-on-one and in small groups in inclusive settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Experience with diverse learning needs and diverse physical needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a Learning Support Team.
• Educational Assistant certification or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent.
• ASL knowledge or familiarity with assistive technology is an asset.
• NVCI or SIVA training would be an asset.

W.A Day Elementary School located in Fort Macleod, Alberta is seeking to employ the very best school based staff in Alberta! W.A Day Elementary School requires a Part-Time Educational Assistant 0.93 FTE (30.25hrs) to provide child support in an inclusive setting. The successful candidate will provide assistance for children in an inclusive program to help meet the goals of the children's learning plan.

Desired qualifications include the following:

• Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group and inclusive classroom settings
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students and staff
• Experience and training in working with children with diverse learning needs
• Experience working with children with diverse physical needs and challenging behaviours
• Experience in working collaboratively with a Learning Support Team
• NVCI and/or SIVA training would be an asset.
• Educational Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent
• Knowledge of American Sign Language and/or Assistive Technology is an asset
• Knowledge of the Leader in Me Framework

This position will commence when a suitable candidate is found and will end on June 29, 2027. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
