Job summary

Livingstone Range School Division in Granum, Alberta, is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant (0.4 FTE) to support a Kindergarten class with 1-1 student assistance.

This 14-hour-per-week position emphasizes collaboration with the Learning Support Team to foster an inclusive learning environment and help meet each child’s learning plan.

Ideal candidates will have experience with diverse learners, and hold an Educational Assistant or Health Care Aide certification; NVCI/SIVA training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
• Ability to build relationships with students and staff.
• Experience and training with diverse learning needs.
• Experience with diverse physical needs and challenging behaviours.
• Experience collaborating with a Learning Support Team.
• NVCI or SIVA training is an asset.
• Educational Assistant certification or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of American Sign Language or Assistive Technology is an asset.

Responsibilities

Granum School requires a Part-Time Educational Assistant (14 hours per week) (Tuesdays & Thursdays) to provide 1-1 child support primarily in the Kindergarten class. The successful candidate will provide assistance for children in an inclusive program to help meet the goals of the children's learning plan.
