Job summary

Westlake Chemical in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a Shipping Loader Operator to move stock between the plant and shipping yard, load/unload trucks, and process receiving paperwork. The role requires strong attention to detail, safety focus, and the ability to work with RF scanners in a fast-paced environment.

You will communicate with drivers, pack orders, and perform duties under supervision while maintaining warehouse organization.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking).
• Must be forklift-certified and hold a valid BC driver’s license.
• Experience as Shipping Loader Operator or in a similar shipping/receiving role is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied weather conditions.
• Safe and efficient truck-loading procedures knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move stock between plant and shipping yard.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Communicate with truck drivers and ensure loads are secured safely.
• Complete receiving paperwork and related documents.
• Housekeeping and restocking in the warehouse.
• Pick and pack orders using RF scanners.
• Perform required training and follow safety rules.
• Support supervisor with tasks and shift changes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Moving stock between plant and the shipping yard
• Loading and offloading trucks
• Communicating with truck drivers and making sure all loads are loaded safely
• Completing receiving paperwork
• Housekeeping and restocking the stock
• Picking and packing the orders by using DSI scanner
• Completing all orders including piecework
• Completing any tasks requested by Supervisor or Lead Hand
• Following all safety rules
• Completing all required training

• Experience as a Shipping Loader Operator at Westlake Pipe & Fittings or equivalent
• Demonstrating a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset
• Good knowledge of various pipe and fittings SKUs with regard to the yard/warehouse locations is an asset
• Must have the ability to work staggered shift schedule as per Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Basic knowledge of computer skills
• Ability to follow instructions as directed by Supervisor
