Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation in Abbotsford, BC, is hiring a Shipping Loader Operator. The role involves moving stock, loading/unloading trucks, and completing order picking with RF scanners. You will handle receiving paperwork, maintain stock, and follow safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are fluent in English, certified in forklift operation, and able to lift up to 50 lbs. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position based in Abbotsford.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Forklift certified and BC driver's license.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions.
• Experience with shipping/receiving paperwork and order picking/packing.
• Ability to operate RF scanners and forklift equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Move stock between plant and shipping yard.

Job description

• This position is Monday to Friday 8 hours/day
• Hourly Rate = $25.58

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Moving stock between plant and the shipping yard
• Loading and offloading trucks
• Communicating with truck drivers and making sure all loads are loaded safely
• Completing receiving paperwork
• Housekeeping and restocking the stock
• Picking and packing the orders by using DSI scanner
• Completing all orders including piecework
• Completing any tasks requested by Supervisor or Lead Hand
• Following all safety rules
• Completing all required training

• Demonstrating a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset
• Good knowledge of various pipe and fittings SKUs with regard to the yard/warehouse locations is an asset
• Must have the ability to work staggered shift schedule as per Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Basic knowledge of computer skills
• Ability to follow instructions as directed by Supervisor
