Job summary

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking reliable and safety-conscious individuals to join the Operations team as Temporary Labourers. You will perform general labour tasks, assist with road maintenance and traffic control, and support water and wastewater crews as needed.

Ideal candidates will hold a valid Class 5 license, be physically capable of heavy lifting, and work well with supervisors and the public while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Class 3A driver’s license would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labour duties related to municipal operations.
  • Assist with road maintenance, pothole repairs, asphalt work, and traffic control.
  • Support water and wastewater maintenance crews as required.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and effectively.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain parks, boulevards, and municipal properties as assigned.
  • Complete work in accordance with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking reliable and safety-conscious individuals to join the Operations team as Temporary Labourers. This position helps maintain municipal infrastructure and support essential services throughout the community.

This position may be assigned to any area within the Operations Division, including Roadways, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Parks & Recreation, or other operational departments as required.

Job Duties
  • Perform general labour duties related to municipal operations.
  • Assist with road maintenance, pothole repairs, asphalt work, and traffic control.
  • Support water and wastewater maintenance crews as required.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Physical ability to perform heavy manual Labour lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relations with supervisors and other employees.
  • Work courteously and tactfully with the general public.
