Responsibilities

• Support instructional, behavioural, and social development of students.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement daily living programs and behavior plans.
• Provide care to medically fragile and high-needs students when required.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, feeding, toileting and personal hygiene as needed.
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment where required.

A vacancy exists for an Educational Assistant III at St Theresa Catholic School (Sherwood Park)) with a job allocation of 0.9286 FTE, working approximately 32.5 hours per week. This position commences immediately. Grid Level dependent on certification.

As an Educational Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support the instructional, behavioural, and social development of students. EA III's support complex needs and potentially medically fragile students.Also may provide specialized care and support to medically fragile and high needs students, could include specialized feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, respiratory and physiotherapy interventions, and communication support. Potential to operate specialized equipment and mechanical lifts, assist with mobility and transfers, and implement individualized daily living programs.
