Job summary

SOCAN Group in Toronto is seeking an AV Identification Administrator to verify, research, identify and match usage data for Film and Television performances across Traditional and Digital platforms using SOCAN’s systems. You will ensure accuracy of matched data and thorough research to maximize royalties and accuracy of payment to our members and foreign affiliates in a timely manner.

This hybrid role offers a 35-hour workweek with potential flexible work options and a contract full-time basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Word.
• Problem solving and decision making.
• Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a strong team dynamic.
• Excellent organizational and research skills.
• Accuracy and detail oriented.
• Knowledge or experience in the Music Industry or Performing Rights is an asset.
• Fluent in English; French is an asset.
• Analytical and results oriented.
• Thorough, efficient, proactive and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify assigned Worksheets of matched/unmatched usage data for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and link unmatched usage/performances to AV Works (cue sheets) in SOCAN’s databases.
• Review and verify matched usage/performances for accuracy of payment and correct any mismatches.
• Liaise with Queries team to resolve complex member or foreign society inquiries.
• Proactively advise Team Lead of potential efficiency and process improvements.
• Other duties as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of AV Identification Administrator is responsible for verifying, research, identification and matching activities of usage data of Film and Television performances for both Traditional media and Digital platforms using SOCAN’s systems. You are responsible for ensuring accuracy of matched data and thorough research to identify AV repertoire using SOCAN’s systems in order to maximize royalties and accuracy of payment to our members and foreign affiliates in a timely manner.

WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and verification of assigned Worksheets of matched and unmatched usage data received for completeness and accuracy
• Identify and link unmatched usage/performances to AV Works (cue sheets) in SOCAN’s databases
• Review and verification of matched usage/performances for accuracy of payment and make necessary corrections of any incorrect matched usage
• Liaising with Queries team, as required, to resolve complex queries from members and/or foreign societies
• Proactively advise Team Lead of any potential efficiency and process improvements
• Other duties, as required
