Job summary

UNC Health's Rex Telemetry Command Center in Raleigh seeks a Cardiovascular Surveillance Technician to support nurses by monitoring patient cardiac rhythms and performing EKGs when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; EKG class preferred.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient heart rhythm and rate using telemetry.
• Obtains six second strip and uploads for evaluation.
• Identifies arrhythmias or changes and notifies the nurse.
• Monitors pulse oximetry and reports changes to the nurse.
• Operates cardiovascular diagnostic/therapeutic equipment as needed.
• Documents test results and prepares reports.
• Precepts new telemetry technicians as necessary.
• Ensures equipment is clean and functional; troubleshoots issues.
