Job summary

UNC Medical Center is transforming the 7 Bedtower into a specialized Cardiology Unit. We seek a Clinical Support Tech I to join a collaborative team supporting cardiac care and patient needs on a 40-hour workweek.

As CST I, you will assist the professional caregiver, transport patients and supplies, maintain patient rooms, perform clerical tasks, and help with basic patient care per care plans. BLS and Nursing Assistant I listing required; High School diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, plus procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Provide clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review orders, transcribe orders, and maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: clean work areas, transport patients, restock supplies, and orient new staff.
• Provide direct personal care per the plan of care and record vitals.
