Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Director of Technology to lead a team of 10–15 developers, data analysts, and technology consultants in Toronto. The role combines business strategy, client engagement, and hands-on delivery to grow the technology practice.

The position is permanent and hybrid in Toronto, ON, with a compensation range of $170,000 to $250,000 per year. You will influence multi-year roadmaps and building a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in technology roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Hands-on technical experience in software development, systems architecture, or data analytics.
• Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing technical teams, with a genuine passion for developing people.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for the team, including how we build, deploy, and scale technology solutions across client engagements.
• Provide technical oversight on custom software development and data analytics projects, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with client needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications that your development team can execute with confidence and clarity.
• Own delivery quality across the technology portfolio while balancing velocity, quality, and client expectations.
• Lead and participate in project steering meetings with clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining clear lines of communication at every level.
