Job description

We are looking for a Technology Solutions and Implementation Manager in Toronto!

Are you a curious, hands-on problem solver who can take an unclear business need, explore the possibilities, and turn it into practical action?

At CFIB, your work supports small businesses in your community and across the country. You’ll have a hand in shaping the economy and future of the country. You will join a collaborative and supportive organization where more than 90% of employees agree it is a great place to work.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time position as a Technology Solutions and Implementation Manager. This position preferably will be a hybrid position in our Toronto office. Candidates preferring to work from home full time anywhere in Canada will be considered.

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy, you will take early-stage technology opportunities—from business problems and emerging tools to ideas that still need exploration—and turn them into practical action. Working in close partnership with CFIB’s IT and technical teams, as well as Digital, Operations, and other business areas, you will help shape solutions and lead the business discovery, implementation, adoption, and stabilization work.

This is a hands‑on individual‑contributor role. You will learn unfamiliar technologies and participate directly in configuration, testing, and implementation, not only coordinate the work of others. You do not need to know every platform from day one, but you must be curious, adaptable, and comfortable learning by doing.

What will you do?
  • Investigate business problems and technology opportunities, working with stakeholders to understand their needs, research possible approaches, test assumptions, and recommend a practical path forward.
  • Turn loosely defined needs into clear requirements, priorities, implementation plans, ownership, and measurable outcomes, while managing timelines, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Working within IT’s technical direction and approval processes, quickly learn the platforms and tools involved and contribute directly to configuration, testing, rollout, and post‑launch improvements. Ensure solutions align with CFIB’s architecture, integration, security, privacy, support, and governance requirements.
  • Work with employees and managers to identify adoption challenges early and ensure ownership, support processes, and next steps are clear before transitioning an initiative into ongoing operations.
  • Explore how AI and other emerging technologies could responsibly improve processes, employee experiences, and member service.
  • Take ownership of moving work forward with limited direction, following up on commitments, addressing barriers, and providing straightforward updates on progress, decisions, risks, and support needed.
What makes a successful candidate?
  • At least three years of practical experience leading or delivering technology implementations, system improvements, process changes, or other cross‑functional initiatives. This experience may come from project delivery, business analysis, operations, technology, product, or a related area.
  • Practical project management skills, including the ability to clarify outcomes, establish priorities and milestones, manage risks and dependencies, and adapt the approach as the work evolves.
  • Demonstrated ownership and comfort moving work forward when the solution or path is not fully defined.
  • Strong curiosity and the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies, platforms, and business processes, including a genuine interest in the responsible application of AI and emerging technology.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to turn broad ideas into clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Clear, direct communication and the confidence to ask questions, surface concerns, and recommend a path forward.
  • Experience working with business teams, technology professionals, external vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Post‑secondary education in technology, business, project management, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of practical experience and education.

Experience with SaaS applications, system integrations, Microsoft platforms, AI‑enabled tools, organizational change, vendor management, or Agile ways of working would be considered an asset.
