Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) seeks a Technology Specialist Co-op/Intern for Winter 2027 (January–April) in Victoria, BC. You will support BCI users with technology needs and assist with improvement initiatives within the Technology Service Desk.

The role targets students in IT-related programs and offers exposure to enterprise IT environments, Active Directory, Intune, and PowerShell while rotating through knowledge-sharing sessions and documentation tasks.

Qualifications

• Enrollment or recent completion in IT program (1 year or less since completion).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to identify root causes and explain solutions.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-service focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support through Service Desk for in-person, phone, and remote sessions.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on workstations, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Assist with password resets, permissions, and access requests.
• Help with file/folder access management and network resource access.
• Assist with software packaging, policies, printers, and patch management.
