Job summary
BCI is seeking a Software Engineer Co-op/Intern to support Investment Tech and D&A teams, working with internal clients and vendors. You will help develop and enhance applications, analyze complex problems, and translate business needs into technical solutions, with hands-on experience in a dynamic, client‑facing environment.
The role involves in-person work at Victoria or Vancouver offices with some remote work, and offers competitive bi-weekly pay and benefits.
Qualifications
- University-level knowledge in computer science or related field.
- Analytical, problem solving and design experience with programming tools.
- Technical writing skills.
- Familiar with source control tools (Git).
- Familiar with Agile methodologies and processes is an asset.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and programming support for new applications and enhancements.
- Resolve day-to-day issues on complex systems across platforms.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Present system solutions to clients with documentation to gain consensus.
- Engage with vendors to address operational needs.
- Contribute to change control for software releases and upgrades.
- Document changes to procedures and data stores using standard tools.
- Participate in Kanban/Scrum to coordinate user stories.
- Support daily operational tasks and special projects.
