PBO Group is seeking: Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician
This individual supports our dedicated clinicians with excellent craftsmanship and organizational skills in a multidisciplinary fabrication workshop setting. Ideal candidates will need to function well both independently and as team members while providing the best possible provision of technical services within the prosthetic & orthotic line of business.
We have a number of positions available at multiple locations.
Salary will be commiserate with experience and education.
Duties include:
Fabricates, repairs, and maintains orthotic/prosthetic devices using a variety of techniques and materials
Follow specification and guidance of Orthotist/Prosthetist
Reads specifications to determine the type of device to be fabricated, materials and tools required
Tests prosthesis/orthosis for freedom of movement, alignment of part and biomechanical stability
Provide fabrication, routine maintenance and repair of devices
Ongoing development of concepts and techniques that improve quality of life for persons requiring prosthetic/orthotic care
Shipping & Receiving
Management of each job from start to finish in a timely manner
Quality control of each device
Equipment and tool maintenance
Contributes to health and safety knowledge and ensures such requirements are followed individually and by colleagues
Effective communication and respectful interaction with colleagues
Identify materials and supplies to be re-ordered according to inventory policies
Maintain a tidy work environment
Other duties as assigned
Necessary skills:
Strong sense of aesthetics
Good eye/hand coordination and precision
Manual dexterity and patience for minute details
Mechanical ability, craftsmanship, sculpting skills
Good listening skills and ability to communicate clearly
Punctual, reliable and courteous manner
Physical: ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladder safely, climb stairs
Training/Requirements & Licensure/Certification
Registered OPC Technician (Recommended)
New graduates will be expected to complete the Intern Training Program as outlined by OPC
