Position Title: Technician, Process Plant

Position Overview

As a member of the Production Team, the Technician Process Plant will report to the Team Leader Processing and work two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati mine site. The Technician Process Plant will ensure the safe, clean, and stable operation of the process plant.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • To participate and advocate all Health, Safety, Environment, and Community programs and ensure Safety is imparted as the number one priority in all aspects of Plant Operations; Execute work in the safest manner as per procedures, use safety tools and comply with standards in place, maintain the highest standard of housekeeping in a self-directed manner, report safety concerns and incidents, actively take part in the safety program;
  • To meet the daily production budget and forecast requirements by operating the plant within the safe operating envelop and take a leading role in breakdown situation, successfully restoring normal operation in a self-directed manner; on budget/forecast for monthly production deliverables.
  • To operate, monitor and adjust process equipment to optimize efficiency / productivity using field observations and Human Machine Interface (HMI), and communicate effectively with team members to ensure sharing of information.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement processes and adopt a Cost-Conscious behavior.
  • To actively pursue self-development in knowledge of the circuits and contribute to the development of Production Assistants.
  • Actively support an environment of teamwork, trust, and mutual respect.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Competence in Plant operations generally gained through a minimum of five years related industry experience.
  • Experience in mining operations or industrial settings and working at a remote site on a rotation basis is considered an asset.
  • Completion of the Mineral Processing Course through the Mine Training Society would be considered an asset.
  • Computer literacy with computer skills in an asset.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly.
