Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities & Equipment Management team in a fast-paced distribution centre.

You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, assist in ordering parts, and support the maintenance department to keep operations safe and efficient. Qualifications include a trade certificate, high school diploma, and at least one year in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate in an applicable trade.
• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow preventative maintenance schedule on equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs on equipment.
• Assist in ordering parts as required.
• Operate and work with mobile equipment as trained.
• Complete daily inspections in a thorough and timely manner.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards.

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment throughout the RSC. Actively contribute to a positive and productive working environment.

Available Shift Tuesday to Saturday 7am to 3pm

• Follow preventative maintenance schedule on equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs on equipment
• Assist in ordering parts as required
• Experience working on MHE (electric pallet jacks, dock stockers and reach trucks
• Complete all daily inspections in a thorough and timely manner
• Assist in all areas of the Maintenance Department
• Adhere and implement all applicable company safety standards
• Maintain sanitation standards
• All other duties as required

What you have to offer:

• Certificate in an applicable trade
• High School Diploma
• A Minimum of one year experience in an industrial setting
• Certified to operate mobile equipment
• Previous experience in a retail support centre
• Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
• Two-person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Possible exposure to extreme temperatures
• Alertness to other people and vehicles
• Various shifts including evenings and weekends
