Job summary

Sobeys Inc. Canmore grocery position seeks a Clerk Sales/Service SW - PT to deliver friendly customer service, process purchases, stock shelves and maintain store presentation.

You will work in a fast-paced Canmore location, handle cashiering, price checks, shelf replenishment, and support inventory and safety standards while providing a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, select and merchandise goods onto shelves and displays.

• Maintain stockroom, floor, and cleanliness; manage labels and pricing.
• Cashier duties: scan items, ensure accurate pricing, handle payments and balance cash.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain safe work areas.

The clerkis required todeliver exceptional customer service at all times,ensuring that their workspace is attractive and in good condition at all times.

Here's where you will be focusing :

• Receive, process, select and merchandise Dry, Refrigerated and Frozen Goods onto regular shelves and end cap displays and fixtures.
• Build and maintain end cap displays, perimeter displays, seasonal displays, set shelving in accordance with Department Presentation Standards.
• Perform Ordering, cycle counting, temperature checking, and inventory control functions as required.
• Maintain the rotation, cleanliness, and organization of the stockroom, walk-in freezers and coolers, fixtures, equipment, and the general sales floor.
• Maintain Electronic and paper-based shelf labels, ensuring accurate pricing, promotions, and country-of-origin are displayed as required.
• Maintain the flow of the stockroom, ensure returns, salvage, cardboard bales, empty totes and pallets are packed into warehouse-bound trailer daily.
• Minor repairs, hanging signs, washing and cleaning of floors, shelves, windows, cleaning the parking lot, retrieving carts and baskets.
• Garbage and cardboard, look after refuse, bailing cardboard.
• Check-stand/ cashiering duties as required.
• When cashiering: Enter and/or scan the item(s) selected by the customer.
• When cashiering: Ensure entered/scanned prices are accurate, and cancel transactions according to established standards.
• When cashiering: Handle cash and other payment methods (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies.
• When cashiering: Balance the cash register.
• Meet productivity standards (sales/hour, entries/minute).
• Provide exceptional and attentive customer service.
• When cashiering: Bag items according to established standards.
• Keep work areas and uniform clean and well-maintained.
• Use equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
• Comply with established food safety and hygiene standards.
• Perform any other related duties.
