Position Purpose

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Drafter will provide pipeline layout information for construction projects with high accuracy, ensuring design criteria adherence and thorough documentation.

Position Details

This is a temporary full-time role for 6 months, working Monday to Friday. Duration depends on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Complete design drawings, quantity calculations, and as-built drawings using software like AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D, etc.
  2. Interpret field survey data and coordinate with survey crews.
  3. Assist with calculations and workflows for field staff.
  4. Prepare 3D models for GPS and Machine Control applications.
  5. Maintain accurate survey and drawing records, documentation, and submittals.
  6. Read, understand, and generate RFIs, maintaining records.
  7. Define scope of work and provide layout information during construction.
  8. Calculate volumes and maintain as-built records.
  9. Ensure compliance with legislative, project, and client specifications.
  10. Conduct quality control verification on drawings and designs.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least one year of AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Geomatics, or related fields.
  • CET certification or eligibility is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and civil engineering plans.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience customizing it.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and work collaboratively.
  • Experience with government permits and legislative requirements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
