Job summary

Avanciers Inc. is seeking a seasoned Technical Writer for a contract role in Canada.

The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, online help files, and training materials for IT systems, with emphasis on networking, servers, and telephony terminology. The role requires at least ten years in IT documentation, strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio Pro), and familiarity with ITSG33 standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years’ experience in IT documentation and technical writing.
• Experience producing Word, Excel, Visio Pro documents (MS Office Suite, Adobe, SharePoint).
• Experience creating online help files or training packages.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure terminology used in documentation (LAN/WAN, servers, telephony).
• Familiarity with software development practices and ITSG33 or equivalent standards.

Role: Technical Writer

Duration: 6-12+ months

Rate: CAD $50-60/hr (7.25 billable hours)

Security Clearance: Secret or Top-Secret Clearance required

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Writer for one of our public sector clients.

Responsibilities:

• University undergraduate degree or diploma or Ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience understanding of IT infrastructure terminology as it is used in documentation, specifically with those used with networking (LAN/WAN), servers and telephony systems.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience and advanced skills in producing Word, Excel and Visio Pro documents. (ie. MS Office Suite, Adobe, Sharepoint, etc).
• A minimum of ten years’ experience and capacity to produce and review technical documents.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience creating online help files or systems, training packages, etc.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience knowledge with software development practices and lifecycle.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience knowledge with ITSG33 or equivalent documented standards.
