Job summary

Raytheon Canada is seeking multiple Technical Writers to create, edit, and review documentation for advanced simulated training systems. You will collaborate with engineers and SMEs to ensure clarity and adherence to guidelines.

Responsibilities include transforming complex concepts into user-friendly manuals, authoring IETMs, managing CSDB data modules, and producing illustrations while following S1000D rules. This role supports a hybrid work arrangement with onsite days.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field, English, Technical Writing, or Communications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience producing technical publications, ideally in an aviation/aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of XML Structured Data, XML Schemas, and experience working in an XML authoring environment.
  • Familiarity with S1000D Standards is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in French (oral and written) and experience with English-French translation is an added advantage.
  • Excellent experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance documentation processes and outputs.

We are presently seeking multiple detail-oriented Technical Writers to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

The salary range for this role is 54,000 CAD - 93,150 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. RTX offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, disability benefits, a retirement savings program, and tuition assistance through RTX’s Employee Scholar Program.
