Job summary

Thames Valley District School Board in London, Ontario is seeking a Technical Support Analyst (temporary – up to 9 months). The role provides remote and on-site support, troubleshooting hardware, software and peripherals across schools and offices.

The successful candidate will have a two-year post-secondary credential in computer technologies and experience with SCCM, PowerShell, SharePoint, AD, and mobile device management; travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Two-year post-secondary program in computer technologies.
  • Experience with Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Chrome OS.
  • Working knowledge of SCCM, PowerShell, SharePoint, BitLocker, and Active Directory.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to multiple sites.
  • Minimum two years’ work experience diagnosing problems and supporting computers/users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support using the Help Desk system.
  • Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot and advise on hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Travel to a variety of locations with diagnostic tools and Board equipment.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with users and IT peers.
  • Respond to diverse school community needs and requests.

Technical Support Analyst (Temporary – up to 9 months)

Location: London, Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford Counties

Working in a team atmosphere, and reporting to the Group Leader, the Technical Support Analyst will utilize the Help Desk system in providing remote and on-site technical support while promoting as well as maintaining positive working relationships with the users. The Technical Support Analyst will install, configure, monitor, support, troubleshoot and provide information and advice on technology software, hardware, peripherals and other technology areas, as required. The Technical Support Analyst will be required to travel to a variety of locations with diagnostic tools and Board equipment.

The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized two-year post-secondary program in computer technologies or equivalent. Expertise is required in contemporary and legacy versions of Operating Systems including Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, iOS, and Chrome OS as well as software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, various web browsers and anti-virus programs. Working experience and knowledge with Microsoft SCCM, PowerShell, SharePoint, BitLocker, G-Suite Management or other Mobile Device Management Console and Microsoft Active Directory will be considered an asset. Access to reliable transportation is required as the Technical Support Analyst will need to travel to a variety of locations with diagnostic tools and Board Equipment. The successful candidate must be able to understand and respond to the needs of diverse school communities.

The successful candidate will have minimum two years work related experience diagnosing problems, supporting computers, users, and computer networks.

RATE OF PAY: $31.10 per hour

HOURS: 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week between 0800 - 1600 with a maximum 1 hour unpaid lunch

The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons and a pre-employment medical screening test. In accordance with regulations, the criminal record background check will be an ongoing requirement TVDSB employees every five years of their employment.
