PCL Constructors Inc. is hiring a Technical Solutions Analyst in Edmonton to enhance time entry and payroll systems, gather requirements, and drive user adoption.

You will lead workshops, design intuitive features, and manage backlogs in Azure DevOps, while delivering training and change management to maximize efficiency. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in business analysis, experience with Azure DevOps and Figma, and strong communication skills to align stakeholders across projects.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and practical experience with software design, implementations, lifecycle methodologies, process re-engineering, and organizational change management.
• Post-secondary degree in IT/IS/CS/engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of business analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand Time Entry and Payroll systems requirements, strategies, processes and outcomes.
• Gather, document and validate business system user requirements.
• Lead workshops and build consensus with stakeholders across multiple business units.
• Design intuitive user experiences and software features using wireframes and mockups; validate solutions with stakeholders.
• Create and manage product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development tasks in Azure DevOps.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing, track issues and obtain user signoff.
• Develop training materials and conduct rollout trainings to internal groups.
• Create and execute change management plans to drive adoption and efficiencies.
• Provide robust, customer-centric support to all users.
• Continuously learn industry best practices and leverage AI to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Understand Time Entry and Payroll systems requirements, strategies, best practices, processes and business outcomes
• Gather, document and validate business system user requirements
• Lead workshops and build consensus with stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple business units
• Design intuitive user experiences and software features using wireframes and mockups, and collaborate with stakeholders to validate solutions that support business processes and drive user adoption
• Create and manage product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development work items using Azure DevOps
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing, track issues, and obtain user signoff
• Develop training materials
• Conduct training rollouts to internal client groups
• Create and execute change management plans to drive acceptance, adoption, minimize resistance, and maximize engagement and efficiencies
• Provide robust, customer centric support to all users
• Continuous learning of industry best practices
• Use AI to ensure all responsibilities listed above are done as efficiently as possible

Qualifications

• Knowledge and practical experience with custom software design, software implementations, software development lifecycle methodologies, business process re-engineering, and organizational change management
• Post-secondary education in information systems, information technology, computing science, engineering or a related field is required
• Minimum of 5 years of business analysis experience is required
• Experience using Figma (or equivalent) to create and validate user interface designs is considered an asset
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar work tracking systems to manage user stories, backlogs, and development activities.
• Comfortable working with high profile, aggressive project schedules
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Able to develop creative solutions to meet customer needs for company-wide processes and software
• Demonstrated relationship building skills with diverse stakeholder groups
• A positive attitude with a passion and commitment to project success
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Experience with Time Entry and Payroll systems is considered an asset
