Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton is seeking a Software Developer for a 12-month contract to customize ERP platforms, write automated tests, and manage build deployments across dev/test environments.

You will work closely with teammates to deliver robust applications, leverage AI-assisted development, and maintain documentation while strengthening stakeholder relationships and ensuring reliable, scalable solutions for our projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
• 3+ years of progressive software development experience.
• Experience with web development using Angular, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience with C#, .NET and Azure Functions.
• Experience with SQL Server and Transact-SQL.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Git, Azure and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, VS Code or similar tools.
• Understanding of software design patterns, AI-assisted development, CI/CD, API-based development.

Responsibilities

• Customizing ERP systems using ERP platform development tools.
• Creating and executing automated tests and performing developer testing before deployment.

• Incorporating AI agents and/or tools to assist with work assignments.
• Breaking down solution designs into development tasks and estimating effort.

• Evaluating and recommending alternative technical solutions.
• Assisting with the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in software development or a related field.
• Postsecondary degree or diploma in computer technology or a related discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience with web-based development using Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience with C#, .NET, and Azure Functions.
• Experience with SQL Server databases and Transact-SQL.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Git, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, Visual Studio Code, or similar development tools.
• Understanding of software design patterns, AI-assisted development, Mobile Development, CI/CD automation, application architecture, and API-based development.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, XP, and Agile.
• Ability to learn business processes and recommend technical solutions.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Security and reliability-first mindset.
• Customization experience using X++ for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or other ERP systems is considered a significant asset.
