We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative - Grande Prairie
We're looking for a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this role is responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and providing technical expertise to support our clients across Grande Prairie.
This position combines technical knowledge with consultative sales, working closely with customers to understand their operational challenges and deliver tailored technical solutions.
What We Expect?
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, process control, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor controls, and electrical systems.
- 3+ years of technical sales experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, electrical, drives, or control systems.
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation and control applications, including the ability to understand customer processes, identify technical requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, process instrumentation, or drive applications is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience using CRM systems; Salesforce experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
- Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow relationships with industrial customers throughout the Grande Prairie region.
- Identify customer needs and provide automation, instrumentation, drives, electrical, and control solutions that address their technical and operational requirements.
- Work with customers, engineers, maintenance teams, and other technical stakeholders to understand applications and develop appropriate solutions.
- Identify opportunities for new automation projects, system upgrades, modernization, and replacement of existing equipment.
- Provide technical support during the sales process, including product selection, solution development, quotations, presentations, and customer discussions.
- Maintain and grow the existing customer base while actively developing new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, manage the sales pipeline, and provide accurate forecasts and sales reports.
- Generate revenue through proactive sales and account management efforts while assuming responsibility for selected branch operational functions to maintain smooth business operations and exceptional customer service.
- Work closely with internal Service, Production, Management, and Sales teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations, and site meetings throughout the territory.
- Maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service to build long-term relationships.
